Quebec Skilled Worker Program
More than 75 eligible occupations are featured in the Quebec skilled worker program (QSWP). There are also areas of training that make applicants eligible for a Quebec CSQ, without a job offer in place. The list for these Areas of Training has a variety of study courses that award points to applicants and a spouse or de facto spouse for diplomas obtained in Quebec or outside of Quebec or recognized as Quebec equivalent.
The Quebec skilled worker program is looking for candidates with the highest probability of successful economic settlement potential. So, interested parties wishing to settle permanently in Quebec must go through a two-step immigration process:
- They have to be selected by Quebec’s immigration authority, the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion (MIDI). Selected applicants will receive a Quebec Certificat de Sélection (CSQ).
- An approved CSQ holder must file an application with Canadian federal immigration authorities. Only issues the federal government concerns themselves with while evaluating a Quebec application for permanent residency is health and criminality.
